Global Farm Platform Statement of Intent Signed by the University of Western Australia

Winthrop Professor Kadambot Siddique, Hackett Professor of Agriculture and Director of the University of Western Australia Institute of Agriculture, became the first high level representative of a partner institution of the Global Farm Platform to sign the joint Statement of Intent setting out its Vision, Mission and Plan. Witnessed by representatives of many of the participating organisations, the signing ceremony took place in the historic Vice-Chancellery at the Crawley Campus during the afternoon of 19 September 2014.

The text of the Statement of Intent was finalised at the recent GFP workshop held at the University of Western Australia 15-19 September 2014, and will now be distributed for signing by representatives of the remaining partner institutions. The Statement of Intent will be used to endorse applications to national and international governmental and philanthropic funds to deliver transformational science for ‘One Health’ (the collaborative effort of multiple disciplines — working locally, nationally, and globally — to attain optimal health for people, animals and the environment).
