The Sustainable Food Trust is a small charity that works internationally to accelerate the transition to more sustainable food and farming systems.
The SFT are seeking to recruit a Senior Researcher to contribute to their research and policy development work by conducting literature reviews and drafting policy reports, position papers and other written material.
The work will cover a wide range of topics relating to food system sustainability, including environmental, health, social and economic issues.
The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of sustainable food systems, and experience of reviewing research papers and writing reports. They will also have knowledge and understanding of research methods and statistical analysis, as well as the ability to think laterally, draw on a wide range of sources and evaluate issues from a range of perspectives.
The chosen candidate will have a PhD or equivalent research experience and will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to explain scientific issues to the public in jargon-free language.
Experience of writing campaign reports or position papers for NGOs or other organisations would be an advantage.
The post will be based at Kites’ Nest Farm in Broadway, near Evesham, though SFT may consider basing the role at their offices in Bristol. There will be an element of home working.
